Scuba
Diving
in Malta is considered the best diving in the Mediterranean. The Maltese islands are blessed with warm
temperatures, even in winter, clear, unpolluted seas, with
visibility underwater in excess of thirty metres. Hundreds of kilometres of coastline, many of which are still unexplored,
make the Maltese archipelago a favourite with adventurous
divers.

Ras In-Newwiela |
|
Ras in-Newwiela next
to Ta Cenc cliffs. History has it that in 1551, Dragut carried
most of the Gozitans to slavery from this point.
This little headland is at the most southerly point of the
Island of Gozo, situated 1 km to the west of Mgarr Ix-Xini.
Along the coastline here the vertical cliffs plunge into the
clear blue sea and below the surface there are interesting drop
offs and large algae covered boulders to explore. A
fantastic place to keep a look out for large groupers.
Just a short distance away from the cliffs (Wall) the seabed
drops to 100 metres plus. Good buoyancy is a must to be
able to explore this dramatic reef. Marine life is
abundant. |
