Scuba
Diving
in Malta is considered the best diving in the Mediterranean. The Maltese islands are blessed with warm temperatures, even in winter, clear, unpolluted seas, with
visibility underwater in excess of thirty metres. Hundreds of kilometres of coastline, many of which are still unexplored,
make the Maltese archipelago a favourite with adventurous
divers.

Divers might come across some squid and barracudas at
the stern. The port side is usually teeming with large
schools of sea breams, parrotfish and silversides.
Sometimes one can come across the occasional amberjack
and Tuna

The wreck of Mt Um El-Faroud
lies upright in position:-
N 35’

The wreck
can be entered fairly easily, especially since a storm split the
oil tanker in two. This has made the Um El Faroud an even
better wreck dive.
Due to its size, this should
be restricted only to divers with advanced diving
training. Maximum depth - 36 metres
