CIRKEWWA
Situated in the north of the island, this location has long been a favourite dive site among local divers, mainly for its impressive drop-off from eight to thirty metres. The area boasts a picturesque arch and a number of caves.

 

Cirkewwa Arches (Left & Right)

The Left Arch is a shallow tube shaped rock found at a depth of 10 metres.  This dive involves a spectacular swim along the Left Reef, passing many interesting  formations including  the Old Man's Nose and Eagle's Claw.  Divers are likely to encounter Morays, Octopus, Groupers and Parrot Fish as they explore the Reef on their way to the Arch.

 

 

 

 

 

The Right Arch is a cavern which has a large hole in the top, creating a narrow bridge of rock under which divers can easily gain access.  The Top of the arch is at 12m Divers can see shoals of barracudas and amberjacks.  The Arch is reached by following the Right Reef and as you explore you will encounter two fantastic swim through.
